Call For Journal Papers

Franklin County Historical Society is pleased to announce the opening date for submission of papers to the Publication Committee for the annual journal. This issue seeks to address a variety of topics which have relevance to Franklin County history and its people. Previously unpublished original documents edited for publication are also accepted.

            -Politics

            -Culture

            -Science

            -Education

            -People

            -Religion

Articles may address Franklin County’s role in national events or look at Franklin County history from a comparative perspective.

 

Submitted essays will be reviewed by the Franklin County Historical Society—Kittochtinny’s Publication Committee. Essays should be no more than 30 typed, double-spaced pages (12,000 words) including endnotes; shorter works are welcomed. All works should be prepared according to Kate L. Turabian’s, A Manual for Writers of Research Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, 7th edition (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 2007).

Electronic submissions are encouraged in WORD format with graphics digitized. They can be sent to history@franklinhistorical.org.

 

If this is not possible, authors should submit 6 (six) copies of their article to FCHS-K at 175 East King Street, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

 

All submissions should include a cover letter containing the title of the essay and the author’s address, phone number, and email address or fax number.
