Volunteer Information
Our volunteers’ time and talent are vital to the success of the Franklin County Historical Society - Kittochtinny.
Volunteers assist with visitors coming for tours, helping visitors conduct research in the library, catalog records and archives, and help with general administrative duties throughout the society’s various areas.
Placement of volunteers is determined based on the volunteer’s interest, skills, and life experiences as well as the needs of the institution. FCHS-K volunteers bring life and energy to supporting the work of our staff through the time they donate.

Assist with mailings to FCHS-K members and donors

Assist with press releases, writings, etc. for public relations related projects
Administrative

In addition to the above mentioned volunteer opportunities, we often need administrative help at FCHS-K. Administrative support positions include filing, organizing, housekeeping of historical documents and books
Note: The environment at the Old Jail consists of steps up to the second floor and also down into the dungeon area if you are applying for a docent volunteer position.
